About Us

Who We Are

St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church has a long history of serving Blount County. As the only Episcopal Church in the county, Saint Andrew’s has grown from twenty congregants at its first meeting in 1923 to over 200 today.

We are a parish of the Episcopal Diocese of East Tennessee, a member of the Episcopal Church USA, and belong to the fellowship of the worldwide Anglican Communion.

What We Believe

We Episcopalians believe in a loving, liberating, and life-giving God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. As Episcopalians, we try to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. His life, death, and resurrection are our hope for salvation.

We are a church of inclusion with the firm belief that God loves you - no exceptions.

We see our faith most clearly as a way of life and as a matter of practice, rather than of doctrine. Our Anglican theology honors scripture, tradition, and the rich complexity of each person.
The Rev. Amy Bradley
Rector

A Mississippi native raised Southern Baptist, Amy left the Church for a decade before finding her spiritual home in the Episcopal Church and its message of God's all-inclusive love. Amy enjoys teaching, preaching, and  listening with God's people to discern what new things the Spirit is doing in people's lives and in our community. She is passionate about baked goods, boots, and the need for a more robust Mariology in Protestantism. (After all, Mary is the Mother of God!) Calling Maryville, TN, "home" has been a dream of hers since childhood, and she is thankful to be able to be a part of our community along with her husband, their kiddo, and their cat. Amy's creativity and joy have been a blessing as she continues to innovate and rethink the way we do church.

Adam Wilson
Lay Associate Minister

Adam is a perpetual Boy Scout. His passion for leadership development and service come straight from his earliest days at a scout, and he continues to volunteer with the scouts as a parent, leader, and chaplain. He loves the outdoors, rainy days, and jam bands. He has a fierce wife, Julia, three amazing sons, three cats, and two dogs. If you’ve got a free afternoon, come hang out in a hammock, and he’ll tell you all about how Star Trek connects to the baptismal covenant.

Cecilia Batson
Office Manager/Chaos Coordinator

Cecilia has lived in Blount County all of her life, and attended Alcoa City Schools.  She defines herself as a walking pop culture reference held together by chaos, coffee, and chocolate. Cecilia now lives in Louisville with her chaotically brilliant daughter Sarah, her chaotically dorky partner Jessie, 2 cats, a dog, and a leopard gecko. The humans and pets are currently competing for room with all of Cecilia’s books, and entirely too much Star Wars memorabilia.
