We are rescued by love when someone bequeaths dignity, worth, recognition, gratitude upon us, encouragement for us because of who we are and what we do. We simply cannot grasp this alone: that we are precious, and amazing, and of inestimable value, unless this truth is mirrored into our being by another person. We need to give and receive support and encouragement for one another as “daily bread.”

Angel Tree Thank You

I’m writing to thank St. Andrew’s congregation for tremendous volunteer support this past week as we accepted applications from 157 families over 5 days for Christmas gift assistance for their children. Ten members put in their valuable time (sometimes more than had been expected!) and efforts to make people feel welcomed, heard and confident that Christmas does not have to be an extra stressful time financially. As the days progressed, word of mouth became increasingly common as the “source of referral”. The welcome people received at St. Andrew’s is a key reason they would tell their friends and neighbors to come to The Salvation Army Angel Tree.
Thank you!
